Get closer to some of the hairiest, scariest, tallest and smallest animals at ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
These historic zoos, run by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), between them house over 1000 amazing species among beautifully landscaped grounds - one an urban oasis, the other a wild adventure.
Now Open! - Giants of the Galapagos
ZSL London Zoo's brand new Giants of the Galapagos exhibit is now open and its star attraction is an energetic pensioner. He might be going on for around 70-years-old, but one of ZSL London Zoo’s newest animals has not one, but two females living in his brand new boudoir.
Dirk, the Galapagos tortoise, and his two new ladies Dolly, 16, and Dolores, 14, are the first inhabitants of the new Giants of the Galapagos exhibit and all three of them have been making the most of their new love shack.
Animal Adventure
For an amazing animal experience for all the family come along to Animal Adventure, ZSL London Zoo's brand-new exhibit. Animal Adventure allows children the chance to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, smells and experiences of life in the animal kingdom.
Gorilla Kingdom
Gorilla Kingdom is the zoo's brand new £5.3m enclosure, a beautiful and atmospheric exhibit housing a colony of stunning Western Lowland Gorillas. Entering the African aviary you will witness some of the beautiful birds that share the environment as they fly around you. Learn about gorillas and the forests they inhabit with interactive activities and exhibits.
Close Rainforest Lookout
New at ZSL London Zoo. Feel the heat of South America within our tropical biome filled with tropical trees and alive with South American monkeys, birds and invertebrates. With nothing separating you from this amazing habitat.
Meet the Monkeys
This enclosure was built to house a breeding group of black-capped squirrel monkeys in a habitat designed to recreate the Bolivian rainforests as closely as possible in the centre of London.
Blackburn Pavilion
The exhibit features a host of tropical birds flying freely inside our restored Victorian bird house. Walk amongst tropical plants, pools and even an indoor waterfall surrounded by the sounds of bird song in the air.
As well as these there are many more exhibits for you to see. With over 650 species of animals set in 36 acres of landscaped gardens in Regent’s Park, ZSL London Zoo is a fantastic day out.
Terms of entry
Children under 16 will not be admitted without an adult
Permission must be obtained for all filming and photography for commercial purposes; Please ask at the main gate
No dogs are allowed on the London Zoo premises
Bicycles are not allowed on Zoo premises; Scooters, rollerskates, rollerblades, skateboards are not allowed on Zoo premises
Please note, there is no provision for left luggage.
